This project explores my relationship between my individuality and Pakistani culture; what I am versus what I am expected to be and, through weaving, I have created a series of 3 tapestries that are very personal to me. The first tapestry shows off my personality and the person I have grown to be, through the meticulous use of colour and careful selection of materials. My second tapestry is more refined and is composed of structured forms, representing cultural norms put forth by our societal systems. The third is a combination of both of these, portraying continual growth and co-existence of these two ‘halves’ of me.
